Robert Burns was called to the Ontario bar in 1994 and practices in the area of civil litigation, with particular emphasis on personal injury and insurance claims, estate litigation and employment law disputes.

Mr. Burns also has developed an expertise in defamation law and has represented large multi-national corporations in complex business libel claims. He also advises other lawyers in the conduct of their defamation cases.

Mr. Burns graduated from the University of Ottawa in 1989, received his Bachelor of Law degree from the University of Western Ontario in 1992 and his Masters of Law degree in Media and Communications Law from the University of New South Wales in Sydney, Australia in 1995. He is a member of the Canadian Bar Association, the Ontario Trial Lawyers Association and is the President of the Board of Directors of the Brain Injury Association of Niagara.
